It aims to provide an overview of techniques and practices in the realm of networked music and networked sonic performance from ancient history to the present, from historical references to today art- & musicworks. It proposes a indexed collection of references to theoretical and critical texts, such as a valuable resource available to actors in the artistic and scientific spheres. It is a platform designed to accommodate different analytical approaches. NMSAT is structured as a database. Each entry or item contains a short description followed by references. The current version of the database consists of these items classified in chronological order. NMSAT encompasses various domains and types of events including :{br}- Technologies and software;{br}- Forward thinking literature;{br}- Musicology and ethnomusicology;{br}- Sound anthropology and history of telecommunication & radio;{br}- Contemporary music and soundart. Volumes 1 and 2 concern the historical period : ancient and modern history, anticipatory literature and technical developments references (ancient times - 1964). Volumes 3, 4 and 5 concern the contemporary period : networked music and soundart, technological developments and contemporary history references (1950 - present) ; it also offers a complete bibliography. Volume 6 consists of a collection of studies which use the NMSAT database as a source of reference. The NMSAT is moderated and maintained by the NMSAT scientific development committee consisting of around 70 researchers and artists. Before the online database launching (previewed on 2012), you can read below the index of entries' lists present into the 5 first Volumes. ---- {small}Locus Sonus is a research group and a post-graduate lab (School of Arts Aix en Provence, National School of Arts Bourges) supported by the French Ministry of Culture (DGCA / Research Department), DDAI / MRT, CNRS, DRAC PACA, FACE & PUF international programs.{/small} {br}{br} ---- {br}{br} !
